The Rural Organizing Project is looking for a home stay for an organizing intern that will begin work with ROP in August.
Our prospective intern wants to make a 20 hour per week commitment to working with ROP, and we like him so much that we want to help make that possible. As he negotiates a move from Nyssa, Oregon and Corvallis to the Scappoose area, housing is his primary need. Without a host, we may not be able to keep him.
Hosts would need to live in the Portland or Scappoose/Saint Helens area, have a spare room, and be willing to host for between 2 and 6 months. Ideally, the home stay could be an in-kind donation to ROP, but we would consider making a small contribution available to help cover any extra utility bills or related costs.
The first step to hosting is a quick phone call with me. The second step is a coffee date with the intern. Then we’ll decide if it seems like a good fit.
Please get in touch if you have any leads, or with questions. And forward this request to friends and colleagues widely!
Thanks so much!
Amanda
