Save the Date: Caucus 2024!

Dear ROPnet,

We’re counting the days until we’ll all be together again at the Rural Caucus and Strategy Session. Literally, counting: it’s in 172 days! Mark your calendars for the 2024 Rural Caucus and Strategy Session, which will be on Saturday, April 6th in Woodburn in Marion County!

For 30 years, small-town and rural organizers, activists, and community leaders from across the state have come together annually to reflect on the last year and to strategize about local and statewide organizing for the year to come at the Rural Caucus and Strategy Session.

The Caucus location changes each year so we can witness firsthand and celebrate powerful organizing in every corner of the state. We are thrilled to return to Woodburn for the first time in many years to strategize with our movement partners at PCUN (Oregon’s Farmworker Union), CAPACES Leadership Institute, and Radio Poder 98.3FM KTUP! We are all deeply engaged in the movement to defend human dignity and democracy on the local and statewide levels through conversations with our neighbors, over the airwaves, and beyond.

With organizing for the 2024 election ramping up, it feels more important than ever to connect with our trusted partners and allies and collaborate in defending democracy. So much has happened since the last Caucus already, and we’ll have a lot to digest together. We need your county and your group to be a part of strategizing with us! Talk to your friends, family, and human dignity group members. Decide on a team of 4-6 people to represent your group and your community. Can we count on seeing you there? Email us at sidra@rop.org and let us know!

Stay tuned for more information, including the Caucus webpage and registration form.

Warmly,
Sidra and the ROP Team
