See you in Hood River on May 3rd – Rural Caucus & Strategy Session!‏

February 20th, 2014

Dear ROPnetters:

Every year rural and small town organizers come together for the Rural Caucus & Strategy Session, a day to share incredible organizing from across the state, reflect on our last year and make plans for our rural human dignity movement in the year ahead.

Hosted by the Rural Organizing Project, the Caucus is about more than workshops and teach-ins.  The Caucus is a chance to connect with small town social justice organizing peers, to share ideas and strategies across communities, to analyze our human dignity movement in rural Oregon and to connect it with larger state, national and global movements.

Join us this year in Hood River on Saturday, May 3rd from 8:30am-5:30pm for the Rural Caucus & Strategy Session.

Here is what Dancer Davis of rural Douglas County had to share about last year’s Caucus:

Being a committed human dignity and social justice activist is not an easy life path. At certain times it can be downright dangerous. Other times range from frustrating and exhausting to exciting and energizing. Being such a person in a rural community can be very isolating. Oregon is blessed to have an amazing organization that connects, supports and energizes rural human dignity and social justice activists. For me, ROP is the heartbeat of Oregon’s progressive rural community. And thank you ROP for the annual Rural Caucus and Strategy Session. You help keep us strong!

Mark your calendars now. Talk with your human dignity group and decide who will represent your group this year.  Let us know back either way if you can make it by emailing cara@rop.org

Register your group today – early bird discounted registration closes April 5th!
