January 15, 2026
Dear ROPnet,
It’s hard to believe we’re only 15 days into 2026, with all that’s happened. One thing that hasn’t changed: we’re going to need each other’s support and guidance to make it through this year. One place you’re sure to get enough of that to lift your spirit and fill your tank for organizing in the coming year: the ROP Caucus!
We will be convening for our annual Rural Caucus and Strategy Session this spring. Mark your calendars for the 2026 Caucus, which will be on the weekend of April 25-26th on the central coast!

The 2025 Caucus in Baker City
For 35 years, small-town and rural organizers, activists, and community leaders from across the state have gathered annually to reflect on the last year and to strategize about local and statewide organizing for the years to come at the Rural Caucus and Strategy Session.
The Caucus location changes each year so that we can witness firsthand and celebrate powerful organizing in every corner of the state. This year, we are thrilled to be hosted by leaders on the central coast who have been hosting regular community events, organizing a rapid response team, building partnerships with human dignity partners along the coast, and so much more! We know we will feel inspired and grounded by their organizing as we gather as a statewide movement to defend human dignity and democracy.
In our full weekend together, we will dig deep in strategy sessions, form new relationships that will bolster our organizing in the coming year, and without a doubt eat some delicious food, sing, dance, and laugh together (karaoke and talent show were a hit last year, should we bring it back?).
We need your county and your group to be a part of strategizing with us! Talk to your friends, family, and Human Dignity Group members. Decide on a team of 2-6 people to represent your group and your community. Can we count on seeing you there? Email us at hannah@rop.org and let us know!
Stay tuned for more information, including the Caucus webpage and registration form.
Warmly,
Hannah and the ROP Team
