We are thrilled to announce that our 20th Annual Rural Caucus & Strategy Session will be Saturday, June 8th at newly opened CAPACES Leadership Institute in Woodburn, Oregon! Celebrate twenty years of the Rural Caucus & Strategy Session with rural organizers and leaders from across the state, reflect and share what we have learned from our organizing the year before, and strategize for the promising year ahead of us! And what kind of celebration would it be without a fabulous party?
Our gracious hosts at the CAPACES Leadership Institute in Woodburn (which many of you remember from our work party last year — it’s finished and beautiful!) will join us for workshops, strategizing, and, of course, the fun that always follows a Caucus!
Mark your calendars: this year’s Rural Caucus & Strategy Session will be on Saturday, June 8th from 8:30am – 5pm in Woodburn, Oregon! You’re also invited to attend a celebratory dinner during the Caucus weekend. Stay tuned for more details in the next few weeks!
A lot has happened since we last came together for last year’s Caucus at the PCUN Union Hall in Woodburn. We have watched many of the core pieces of our work here in rural Oregon get national attention and move ahead in leaps and bounds. We are making history here in rural Oregon, from Welcoming Communities work to the March for ONE Oregon to the ongoing fight for rural postal service, and it is the Caucus where we are able to bring together the leaders and laborers from all kinds of work to cross-pollenate, experiment, refine, and make the plan for the coming year of movement building.
Registration forms will be available for your group in early April. For now, save the date, and let me know atjessica@rop.org if you plan to attend this year – we’ll get you on our list! See you at the Rural Caucus & Strategy Session on Saturday, June 8th in Woodburn!
