Privacy Policy of the Rural Organizing Project (ROP)

Effective Date: July 28, 2025

Introduction

The Rural Organizing Project (ROP) values the trust of everyone who interacts with us, whether through our website at www.rop.org, in person, through activities, outreach, caucuses, or as part of our extensive network of autonomous human dignity groups across rural Oregon. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and share personal information consistent with our commitment to human dignity, justice, and democratic empowerment.

About ROP

ROP is a statewide grassroots organization supporting a multi-issue, rural-centered base in Oregon. Founded in 1992 as a response to discriminatory policies, we have grown to a network of over 80 volunteer-led human dignity groups spanning all 36 counties and one tribal community. Our work is rooted in the leadership of local volunteers, supported by a small core staff, fellows, interns, and numerous allies. Our mission is to strengthen leadership in autonomous groups to sustain vibrant democratic participation and social justice.

ROP is guided by three core principles:

  1. Every community matters
  2. Every issue is interconnected
  3. Transformational organizing is essential
